Four lightweight golf bags that
are easy to carry on the course

Walking is making a brisk comeback in golf. With many courses across SoCal initially allowing only one player per cart for health and safety reasons during the onset of the coronavirus, the activity of walking 9 or 18 holes has become much more commonplace on the fairways these days.
“With the new rules and guidelines that were issued, walking during a round lended itself to that,” said LaDawn Zitur, Golf Shoe and Bag Buyer for Roger Dunn Golf Shops and The Golf Mart. “And with a lightweight bag, golfers can get a little exercise without the additional strain.”

Golf has seen a tremendous increase in participation recently and the desire to walk has created a huge demand for product. With most push cart models sold out for the time being, here’s a look at some of the best carry bags you can find that will  help lighten the load the next time you play:

Titleist Players 4 Carbon

Every golfer wants to go low on their scorecard. But if you want to go low on the weight of your golf carry bag, the Titleist Players 4 Carbon weighs a mere 2.8 pounds. It features strong carbon-fiber legs, a lightweight, durable material, a four-way divider for your clubs, and exterior mesh water bottle and rangefinder pockets. With five total pockets and a double strap it’s made for the minimalist. As with all the bags featured here, these  come in a wide variety of different color schemes. CHECK IT OUT HERE.

PING Hoofer Lite Stand Bag

If you’re going to hoof it for 18 holes of golf, you might want to consider a Hoofer. The lightweight stand bag from PING weighs only 5 pounds and offers many other useful benefits. There’s the padded shoulder straps, the ability to convert from a backpack style to a single-strap carry, and a cushioned hip pad for added comfort while carrying. A four-way divider creates easy access to your golf clubs and there are seven pockets to store your gear and belongings. In addition to a valuables pocket, there’s also a spot for your rangefinder, water bottle, and apparel. CHECK IT OUT HERE.

TaylorMade FlexTech Lite Stand Bag

Weighing in at 4.1 pounds, the FlexTech Lite Stand Bag from TaylorMade won’t drag you down during your round. It was built with an emphasis on comfort and convenience with features that include a four-way top to separate your clubs and eight pockets to hold all your stuff. A collapsible base system allows golfers to prop up their bag and remove their club with ease, and one of the pockets is seam-sealed and water resistant. A self-adjusting strap system helps you stay comfortable while you carry the bag from shot to shot. CHECK IT OUT HERE.

Sun Mountain 3.5 LS

The 3.5 LS is designed for golfers who love Sun Mountain’s popular 2.5+ bag, but want even more features as part of the package. At 3.5 pounds, the LS is one pound heavier than the 2.5, which allows for a thicker strap, a more-cushioned hip pad, and several more pockets – seven total, including a velour-lined one for your valuables. In addition, the 3.5 LS features a lightweight nylon fabric, a roomier top with more space for your metalwoods, and grab loops on the straps that make carrying the bag even easier. CHECK IT OUT HERE.
